What do you enjoy most about your work?
The best part about this job is helping RNs begin, or continue their travel career and make their dreams come true. Whether they are financial or personal, it's amazing to hear about what travel nursing can do for you. I have had nurses pay off their student loans, climb a bucket list mountain, meet a significant other on assignment, etc. Those joys are what makes this job special.
What do you do for travelers that you feel is completely unique to you?
I see myself as more than just a recruiter. I try to add as much value to my relationship with a nurse as I can. The main priority it making sure that travelers are educated on the market, different companies, hospitals, insurance, etc. If I can't answer a question, I find someone who can. I know we might not work together forever, but it's important to me that everyone is empowered by knowledge of the industry so they can have a long and successful career.
What is your favorite thing about working with travelers?
What is your most valuable advice for the travelers you work with?
After seeing so many ups and downs in the market over the years, my biggest piece of advice for travelers is to have an emergency fund available at all times. I know this may not be feasible for all, especially on a first assignment. Travel nursing is unpredictable and even with the most fantastic resume and recruiter, life can come at you fast and having an emergency fund will give you peace of mind. If you are working to build that up, your recruiter can help find you an assignment to do so!
Why are you passionate about this industry?
The opportunities, for yourself and for others! It's amazing what you can accomplish and provide with travel nursing. Travel RNs bring so much value to the hospitals and patients they serve. Some hospitals truly could not function without the support of travelers. It's important to remember that you are there to help healthcare work better. The patients may not have been able to receive the same excellent patient care without the help from travelers!

I would love to visit Yosemite. I love hiking and beautiful mountain scenery! So it’s very fitting I live in Ohio…

I have the cutest black lab named Keno! He was a rescue, at 9 months old he had already had two families. It's heartbreaking to think about, but it brought him to us! He is the best boy! He loves to swim, hike, sleep, and eat. Keno definitely keeps us on our toes and makes sure we stay active and get outdoors s much as we can.
