Super Nurse for October 2017: Connie

At Health Carousel Travel Nursing, we know our nurses rock! Our Super Nurse of the Month for October 2017 is no exception, as she recently received a “ROC Star” award at her facility for her quick response and managing of almost a full code blue event.

Here’s what Connie had to say about her Super Nurse motivation:

“I love being a nurse and wanted to be one ever since I can remember. Being the oldest of five siblings, I cared for them like I was their mother when I was just a young one myself! That provided me with a lot of experience with children before I had my own two girls later after I married.

I have done many different specialties in nursing throughout the years as an RN, and that’s what I love most about the field. My background was ICU right out of nursing school, and that provided the education, knowledge, and experience to try my hand in other departments. As I like change, I’m always yearning to learn new things and keep it moving. That’s another reason why I enjoy travel nursing.

Travel nursing has opened up a while new world for me since I started in 2005. I’ve seen the USA because of travel nursing, as there is not vacation time in any job—that I know of—to see and do as much as I have. I’m very thankful for this opportunity.

My children are grown now and have begun their adult lives, so it’s just me, my wonderful and supportive husband, Mike (who is now retired and travels full-time with me), and our sweet dog, Angel.”
